Telangana Congress is burying itself!

Despite polls suggesting that the Congress party has a better chance of winning the next assembly elections in November or December of this year, it appears that the Congress party in Telangana is digging its own grave.

The state’s congressional leaders are following the standard crabs-in-a-jar narrative. If one crab tries to reach the top of the jar, the other crabs try to pull it back down. The same is true for Telangana’s political leaders.

While Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy is working hard to revitalise the party and increase its chances of winning the next assembly elections, other Congress leaders, particularly seniors, are undermining his efforts.

Former home minister and veteran Congress leader K Jana Reddy’s recent comments that the Congress may need to form an electoral alliance with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi to prevent the Bharatiya Janata Party from gaining power are a classic example of how the Congress can sabotage its own chances.

For starters, such remarks clearly show that the Congress regards the BJP as a larger force with a better chance of gaining power.

Second, they demonstrate a lack of confidence within Congress that it can achieve power on its own.

Third, it demonstrates that Congress leaders are eager to form an alliance with the

Fourth, such remarks provide BJP leaders with a new weapon, as they now claim that the Congress and the BRS have a hidden alliance.

Bandi Sanjay, the BJP’s state president, has already stated that the Congress and BRS will fight the elections together, with any votes cast for the Congress going only to the BRS.

“This would imply that the BJP will try to ensure that every anti-establishment vote goes to it rather than the Congress,” said one analyst.

What more evidence is needed to conclude that Congress has sabotaged its own chances?
