When the list of awardees was announced on Republic Day, Raveena Tandon reacted by saying, “I am honoured and grateful. Thank you so much, Government of India, for recognising my contributions, my life, my passion, and my purpose – cinema and the arts, which enabled me to contribute not only to the film industry but also to society at large. I’d like to thank everyone who helped me along the way in this journey of the Art and Craft of Cinema, both those who held my hand and those who watched from above. This is because of my father, Ravi Tandon.”
